Food Allergens and Enzymes

I want to talk about food allergens since I have had almost 20 years of dealing with this within my own family. Knowing what your allergies or intolerances are can improve your health and life. If you continue to eat something that is an allergen for you, it can cause inflammation, causing problems absorbing the vitamins and minerals you eat, thus malabsorption issues.

If your body is not digesting or breaking down foods properly, proteins, carbs, etc. digestive enzymes targeted at the food your body has trouble with will help break down those difficult foods. It will also prevent the body from using your metabolic enzymes instead. Metabolic enzymes are used for important bodily functions and your body has to exert energy to create them.

Eating foods, you’re allergic to or have an intolerance to, makes you very tired since your body has to work hard to digest them, and it causes inflammation. When I gave up gluten over a decade ago, my energy level skyrocketed. I thought I was just a tired mom of young children. That wasn’t the case. Also, the mid-afternoon slump disappeared. Let me know if you suspect food intolerances. I can help.
